Biodynamics
What is biodynamics?
Biodynamics studies the dynamics of organic functions and complies with principles that guarantee and maintain soil and plant health and purity. Respecting environmental balance and harmony is key for nature not to be impacted or degraded.
This is a new concept for mankind but for us, at Careless Beauty, this is something we have inherited for generations, starting with our great grandparents and surely going into the future, while we observe the Force of Life.
What is biodynamic agriculture?
It is a farming method that recognises that the soil has its own life and that its vitality supports and impacts plant growth leading to healthy products that are strongly connected to a healthy and lively soil.
Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) studied and introduced this concept of biodynamic agriculture and preparations based on his own anthroposophical theory.
What difference does biodynamic agriculture bring?
Biodynamic agriculture as practiced in Careless Beauty gardens goes beyond organic farming, as it does not involve any synthetically produced fertilizers or mechanical harvesting methods.
The soil has its own natural nutritional resources, so we grow certain species together so that they can transfer natural substances to one another for well-balanced development.
Moreover, all plant waste resulting from manufacturing processes is regularly turned into compost in order to naturally fertilize the soil. In nature, nothing is lost, so whatever is left after harvesting and processing our crops goes back to nature, to the earth.
Besides all the soil and plant protection outcomes, synergy is created with seasons, flora, fauna and the whole environment.
A practical example from our garden:
We brought in wild sea buckthorn shrubs, from their natural environment, in order to ensure the health and quality of our plants and today we produce cuttings of this wild shrub.
We decided to do so because its roots release large amounts of natural nitrogen into the soil thus feeding the other plants around in the most natural way: wild jasmine, sage, wild rosehip, Romanian white lily from my grandmother’s garden, violets, snowdrops, tuberoses, lemon balm, wild mallow, lavender, calendula, ginkgo biloba, birch or black poplar.
And also… all the waste from plant extraction, maceration and distillation serves as future natural compost to revitalise the soil.
How good are biodynamic products?
Careless Beauty biodynamic products are made of all natural ingredients based on plants that have been biodynamically grown in our own garden; they are pure, organic and much better as they largely stimulate the self-regenerative and self-regulating mechanisms of the human body.
So, by observing nature’s rhythm, by growing plants in harmony with the natural processes of the soil and interplaying with the other parts of the whole, the sky with its stars, sun and moon, with their own special vibration, we get cellular nutrition for our skin and our whole body.
Biodynamic preparations are all natural and plant based, making our consumers instantly aware of their power and visible effect of their skin.
The philosophy of biodynamics
Working the soil is staying connected with nature but also with the Universe, within that cosmic life vibration that has been resonating for millions of years under the trilogy earth-vegetal-animal.
This is how we get to see that a handful of soil is made of an infinite world of beings created by God to help us accomplish His work.
Growing and processing plants, preserving a healthy environment and manufacturing natural products comes as the exact opposite to synthetic products causing nutrient depletion. Thus, biodynamics is able to contribute to the cellular restructuring of the human body.
